Dear Alumni,
The Alumni Board of Directors has taken a significant step forward by approving a fresh and exciting purpose: “To provide unwavering support to the Shenandoah community for lifelong engagement.” This purpose will be upheld through the implementation of five dynamic pillars: Admissions, Alumni Engagement, Student Engagement, Career Planning and Placement, and Giving. If you are curious to delve deeper into the specifics of these Five Pillars, I encourage you to explore more about them here.
Behind the scenes, our dedicated committees have been working tirelessly to establish concrete and measurable goals that align with our newfound purpose. Their enthusiasm and commitment are driving us closer to our mission. In anticipation of our upcoming Fall Board Meeting, we are meeting in June to discuss and strategize our activities. The energy is palpable as we prepare to propel our alumni community forward.
As your alumni president, it brings me immense pride and joy to extend a warm welcome to our newest graduates as they embark on their post-academic journeys. During the recent commencement ceremony, I challenged them to embrace each day as a valuable lesson and to recognize that the classroom of life offers lifelong learning opportunities. It is through these experiences that we discover meaningful ways to give back and positively impact the lives of others within our communities.
Now, I urge you to seize this moment and join us in fulfilling our purpose of lifelong engagement. Whether it is through lending a helping hand, sharing your expertise, or connecting with fellow alumni, your involvement can make a significant difference. Reach out to me or any of our esteemed Board Members to learn more about how you can contribute and become an active participant in our vibrant alumni community. Together, let us create a legacy of engagement and support.
Happy Summer!
Anne
