Our Clinical Instructor
Shenandoah University Division of Physical Therapy (SUPT) is pleased to have the support of a vast clinical community. Many of our clinical instructors are credentialed by the APTA. Our graduates and other clinicians provide quality and enthusiastic clinical instruction to our students throughout their time at SUPT.
Our clinicians are also often found in our classroom and labs, providing their clinical expertise to the next generation of physical therapist.
We use EXXAT software system for managing all our clinical placements. CIs/CCCEs: Access current SUPT general clinical education documents and instructions for CPI training.
Continuing Education Opportunities
Clinical Instructors should refer to the state practice act to determine if mentorship of student Physical Therapists fulfills continuing education requirements necessary for license renewal. At the conclusion of each student’s clinical experience the Clinical Instructor will receive a letter attesting to the duration of the clinical teaching.
SUPT hosts an annual Clinical Education Advisory Meeting. We invite you to participate in problem solving discussions with the core faculty and other clinical instructors.
We are a member of the Mid-Atlantic Consortium and participate in offering a low-cost day long clinical education workshop on a yearly basis. Look for emails with information on great continuing education related to clinical teaching!
Clinical Partners Program
Our clinical partners receive many benefits from their affiliation with SUPT:
- invitation to continuing education events at a reduced cost
- contemporary textbooks
- access to the SU library database
- teaching and research partnership opportunities
We appreciate your commitment to teaching the future leaders of the physical therapy profession.
If you would like to set up a contract with your facility to take SUPT students, please contact Betsy Burns.
