Shenandoah Celebrates Successful 2019 (SU)PERcussion Day

Shenandoah Conservatory hosted the 2019 (SU)PERcussion Day on Saturday, Feb. 9, and explored percussion through world percussion, timpani and drum set clinics with guest world- drumming artist Tom Teasley and Shenandoah Conservatory Adjunct Associate Professor of Jazz Percussion Alphonso Young, M.M., and Professor of Percussion Earl Yowell, M.M. The event was attended by high school and junior high school students from Virginia and Maryland, and culminated in a concert by the (SU)PERcussion Ensemble. At the end of the concert, participants were invited back on stage to perform with members of the (SU)PERcussion Ensemble in a performance of “Perpetual Motion” for snare drum quartet and percussion ensemble.
