Bassist McHugh ’21 Challenges Himself to Write New Music

Bassist Jake McHugh ’21 (Bachelor of Music in Performance) has challenged himself to write as many new songs as possible during the COVID-19 outbreak. He wrote “Dang It! Corona.”

This was a challenge cause it’s always been tough playing bass and singing. Weird for a bassist, I know. Now groove!”

Lyrics:

It’s been a while
Since I’ve had some time alone
And it’s been a while
Since I’ve been at home

Oh but the times are changing
The craziest times I’ve ever seen
The world’s got some explaining
But i don’t mind the quarantine

Now I’m sitting on my sofa
Till this blows over
Be safe, take cover
Dang it! Corona

It’s been a while
Since I’ve had some time alone
And it’s been a while
Since I’ve been at home
Just cause we’re in quarantine.
Doesn’t mean we can’t be seen
I don’t mind a setback
Just don’t ruin everything
Now I’m sitting on my sofa
Till this blows over
Be safe, take cover
Dang it! Corona

Oh dang it, corona
