Explore this Year’s GEL Courses
Research the list of GEL courses currently being offered. You may also attend interest meetings and contact the faculty leaders of the trip to find out more information.
-
Apply for a GEL Course
Once you have found a GEL course you would like to apply for, complete the online application for that course.
-
Register for a GEL Course
If your GEL application has been accepted, your application status will be updated to “conditionally accepted.” That means the faculty leader has approved you for the course, but you still need to register for that GEL course in order to secure your spot.
If you are approved for a GEL course, you will receive a PDF registration form in Via (the platform where you initially applied). You will need to download and complete the registration form and either take it to Hornet Central or email it to hornetcentral@su.edu. GEL courses do not count toward your 12 credit load and will not bump you into overtime.
-
Pay for Your GEL Course
Your GEL course will be included in your semester bill. You may apply for a payment plan with Student Accounts in order to pay your bill in installments.
-
Prepare for Your GEL Course
Attend all pre-departure meetings and orientations and do any assigned coursework. Submit all required documents in your online application (ex. copy of passport, travel waivers, etc.)

Have an amazing GEL experience!
