Shenandoah University Hosts ‘Mindful Morning,’ April 14

Come Balance Your Mind and Body at the James R. Wilkins, Jr. Athletics & Events Center

Shenandoah University will host its first-ever “Mindful Morning” on Saturday, April 14, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the newly opened James R. Wilkins, Jr. Athletics & Events Center. Participants can experience yoga, Pilates and mindfulness sessions, and connect with wellness professionals from throughout the region. The event is open to the public. Tickets are $5 online.

“The Wilkins Athletics & Events Center is a gathering space for the entire community,” said President Tracy Fitzsimmons. “We welcome the community to join us for a fun event and to discover the center’s many possibilities.”

The Mindful Morning schedule will include:

9 a.m. to 10 a.m. | Registration
10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. | Yoga with Christa Joyce of Jala Yoga
10:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. | Break
10:45 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. | Pilates with Michelle Dowell of Pilates Connection
11:15 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. | Break
11:30 a.m. to Noon | Mindfulness with Jill Donnelli-Hu of Dharma Studio
Noon to 1 p.m. | Visit with Wellness Vendors

Participants are encouraged to dress in comfortable clothes and bring a yoga mat or towel and a bottle of water. Shenandoah students, faculty and staff may attend for free.
