J.J. Ruscella, M.F.A., director of the Shenandoah Center for Immersive Learning (SCIL) and associate professor of theatre (above, right), received the Virginia Foundation for Independent Colleges’ H. Hiter Harris III Excellence in Instructional Technology Award on Thursday, Nov. 8. This award is given to someone who has helped to incorporate the use of technology in innovative ways in the undergraduate educational experience on their campus. The award provides funding to support the recipient’s research and professional development in the area of incorporating technology in the undergraduate learning experience.
In other news, Director for Transformative Teaching and Learning for the Center for Teaching, Learning and Technology Anne Marchant, Ph.D., was an invited panelist at the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia – Virginia State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (SARA) meeting held in Richmond on Nov. 8.
