Pardo, Elion ’20 and Sloan ’18 Collaborate on Project with The Blanket

Assistant Professor of Modern Dance Matt Pardo, M.F.A., recently produced “Yolk & Grove” in collaboration with choreographer Beth Gill and the Carrie Furnaces for the dance-centric production company The Blanket with co-director Caitlin Scranton. The project was performed in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and featured two Shenandoah Conservatory students: The Blanket dancer Adrienne Elion ’20 (B.F.A. in Dance) and The Blanket intern Erisa Sloan ’18 (B.F.A. in Musical Theatre). The project was funded by grants from the Mckinney Foundation; Arts, Equity, & Education Fund; Opportunity Fund and private donors, and was a fiscally sponsored project of the Foundation for Independent Artists Inc. It received strong, positive media coverage by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, WESA (local NPR station), and a few other publications. Visit www.theblanket.org/dancers/projects#upcoming to learn more.
