Creating Opportunities in South Korea for Students

Shenandoah University and Partners in Sports, from Seoul, South Korea, sign a memorandum of understanding

On Monday, Oct. 28, Shenandoah University joined in a partnership with a global company in South Korea to offer international opportunities for Shenandoah students.

Shenandoah University and Partners in Sports, from Seoul, South Korea, signed a memorandum of understanding on Monday at the Harry F. Byrd, Jr. School of Business.

The partnership includes the potential for a student exchange for research and study, mentoring programs, volunteering activities, English as a Second Language programs, and friendly matches and joint training in athletics.

Shenandoah University has been involved in major events with South Korea to include the Winter Olympic Games in Pyeongchang and the FINA World Championships in swimming. This signing will open the door for other partnership areas, to include health sciences, humanities and business.”

The memorandum of understanding promotes a sustainable partnership and mutual understanding between the two parties and solidifies a formal working relationship. It was signed by Shenandoah University President Tracy Fitzsimmons, Ph.D., and Partners in Sports Chief Executive Officer Wonil Choi.

The group from Partners in Sports spent the weekend exploring Shenandoah’s campus and Winchester! They attended Saturday’s football game with Tracy.
