For her Dance Costuming Class’ final project, Theatre Design & Production Program Coordinator, Costume Designer and Associate Professor of Costume Design Jennifer Flitton Adams, M.F.A., challenged students to take an existing garment they already had and change it into a dance costume. The final project for the class usually challenges students to create a garment from scratch, but since they could not complete it in this usual way, Adams tweaked the project to make it more accessible and uniquely rewarding for them.
“They could sew it if they had the means to, but they did not have to,” said Adams. “They were extremely creative in their repurposing!”
