In Memoriam
Jordan Harding (D ’50) passed away on March 27, 2021. He was mayor of New Carrollton, Maryland for 14 years, as well as a city councilman. He was also town manager for several years in Crofton, Maryland. He had a 38-year career with the Federal U.S. Information Agency/State Department. Harding traveled the world as a special escort and lecturer after his retirement, frequenting the Baltic States and Russia, where he was presented with a “Peace Trophy” by the Stavropol Krai Branch of the Russian Peace Foundation for “establishing important international cooperation in peacemaking activities” during his visits to the region. He was also awarded an honorary Doctor of Public Administration degree from the Ulyanovsk State University in Russia. He is survived by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and brother.
Clifford Clark (C ’72) passed away on January 1, 2021. He was a violinist with Savannah Symphony, Hilton Head Orchestra, and Savannah Philharmonic for many years. He is survived by his wife, three children and several grandchildren.
Rebecca Ann Martin (B ’90) passed away on March 20, 2021. She resided in the Northern Shenandoah Valley for most of her life and worked as an office manager for Skyline Family Practice in Front Royal, Virginia, until she retired. She is survived by her daughter, her siblings, two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Sally Strole Stephenson (AS ’00) passed away on February 26, 2021. She worked in schools for 24 years before retiring in June 2001. She loved being a grandmother to her two grandsons. She was a member of the Church at Woodmoor in Monument, Colorado, and the Tri Lakes Women’s Club. She is survived by her children, grandchildren and siblings.
