Leadership development is a staple at many universities and business schools. At Shenandoah, students engage with dynamic working professionals through the Leadership And Mentoring Program (LAMP).

LAMP is a collaborative partnership between the university, the business community, Shenandoah alumni, and professionals from a variety of organizations throughout the region and beyond. Students are encouraged to leverage LAMP mentors for career guidance, leadership development, job exploration, and professional/individual sponsorship.

The program was initiated in 2015 by LAMP Director and Associate Vice President for Student Leadership and Development Fritz Polite, Ph.D.

The Division of Student Affairs is focused on student career and professional development. These are essential and critical elements that students need to be successful in a changing global economy.”

LAMP began to expand its services beyond the business school in Fall 2020 and will continue to focus on engaging students from other academic disciplines.

We provide students with a support system where ideas and professional experiences can be exchanged in a nurturing and healthy environment. Every student who has ever set out to become a leader has learned, one way or the other, the benefit of mentorship for their personal and professional success. LAMP is our answer to that need.”
