Roussell ’24 Performs in New Opera by Garth Baxter

Sadie Roussell ’24 (Bachelor of Music Therapy) spent her summer rehearsing and filming her first professional opera role. She was part of the cast for a new American opera “Lily” with music by Garth Baxter and libretto by Lisa VanAuken. The opera is based on the book “The House of Mirth” by Edith Wharton and its premiere was hosted by McDaniel College in Westminster, Maryland, under the direction of Stephen Strosnider. Roussell performed the roles of Little Edie, Girl with the Watering Can and Hat Shop Worker) in the production.
