Smallwood ’16, ’20 Serves as Operations Manager of Music Facilities

Shenandoah Conservatory recently welcomed Megan Smallwood ’16, ’20 (Bachelor of Science in Arts Management, Master of Business Administration) as operations manager of music facilities.

Reporting to the executive director of performances and engagement, Smallwood is a key team member of the conservatory’s general management staff. She oversees venue reservations and the comprehensive schedule of all concerts, classes, recitals and events scheduled in Shenandoah Conservatory’s performance venues; and manages the daily operations of music facilities. Smallwood will work closely with music faculty, ensemble/program directors, the piano technician, music production and recording technology, and the production manager of music facilities to ensure all events, rehearsals and performances are appropriately equipped and staffed, and that the facilities and events are operated in a professional manner, maintaining the safety, comfort and security of students, faculty, guest artists and patrons.

Smallwood previously served as the box office manager at Shenandoah University and is a Halloween enthusiast. After a stint in the tech industry, she is excited to join the conservatory again and to serve in this new role. She specializes in arts administration, customer service and reality TV. In her free time, Megan can usually be found watching “Ghost Adventures” with a crochet hook in one hand and yarn in the other.
