Students Create Japanese Shibori Projects in Costuming Class

Students in this semester’s Special Topics in Costuming class taught by Costume Designer and Associate Professor of Costume Design Jennifer Flitton Adams, M.F.A., recently created Japanese Shibori (tie dye) projects. The students are learning about fabric embellishment and ways to create fabric designs with both this project and silk painting. They will move on to millinery (hat making) next in their work.

“It’s been a fun semester with a very talented group of students,” said Adams.
