Off-Campus Housing Information
There are several hotels close to Shenandoah University and to the Old Town Winchester Walking Mall; information about some of them is given below. Registrants are to make housing arrangements directly with the hotels. Be sure to tell them that you are with Shenandoah University’s Church Music Institute in order to receive a reduced rate. You may also wish to check online travel and hotel sites to see if these rooms are offered at a lower rate elsewhere.
Hotel Near the Walking Mall
The George Washington Hotel (540-678-4700) – The oldest and most elegant hotel in Winchester, located adjacent to the Old Town Winchester Walking Mall. It is the most conveniently located of our lodging options, close to many restaurants and an easy walk to the downtown churches where most classes and events are held.

Best Western Lee-Jackson Inn (540-662-4154) – Rate includes a discount for meals next door at Perkins Restaurant

Candlewood Suites (540-667-8323) – All rooms have a kitchenette equipped with pots and pans, plates, glasses, utensils and silverware. Check their website for other amenities.
On-Campus Housing Information
Participants staying on campus are housed in the University Inn, a former hotel. The hallways and lounges were renovated in 2014 and 2015, and the rooms in 2017. It has single- and double-occupancy rooms, each with a private bathroom (please state preference on the registration form). The on-campus package includes housing and three meals per day in the cafeteria; there are no reductions for meals not taken. Note: You will need to bring your own linens, pillows, and lamps; housekeeping is not provided. Housing payment is separate from Church Music Institute registration and is due at the time the housing application is submitted.
