Lunch and Learn: United Methodist General Conference

May 8 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm

The Office of Spiritual Life will hold a Lunch and Learn session on Wednesday, May 8, from 11:45 a.m.–1:15 p.m. in the Borden Student Associations Center (B-SAC, room 123) of the Brandt Student Center to cover what happened at the United Methodist General Conference session (April 23-May 3) and how it impacts our Shenandoah University community (SU is a United Methodist-affiliated university). Chaplain and Director of Spiritual Development and Outreach, Ian Urriola, will serve as a delegate to this General Conference.

Lunch will be provided to attendees who register by Monday, May 6, at noon.

The United Methodist General Conference is the highest legislative body of the United Methodist Church. Comprised of 862 lay and clergy delegates from all over the world, this body typically meets every four years to revise and adapt the denominational policies of The United Methodist Church. Due to COVID, this will be the first time the General Conference has met in regular session since 2016. This conference will be in session from April 23 – May 3 in Charlotte, NC.
