My favorite spots around SU: There are so many great small coffee shops in Winchester, and my favorites are Hopscotch Coffee & Records, Hideaway Cafe and Espresso Bar and Cafe. Old Town Winchester has a friendly atmosphere and I love walking downtown with family and friends to shop, listen to live music, and sit outside while enjoying a great meal.
What makes SU special to me: It feels like home. When I was searching for colleges, even though there were many factors in my decision, how I felt when I visited those campuses and their surrounding areas was a huge part of my decision. At Shenandoah, the welcoming atmosphere is extended to everyone and I love how our community includes all of our students, staff, and faculty. My extended family and friends visit us to attend Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre shows, Apple Blossom, and more – it’s become a home for all of us.
My hobbies: In my free time, you’ll probably find me curled up with a cup of coffee and a book, watching hockey, football, or soccer, and spending time with my family. I also love to travel and depending on the time of year, you might find me at a renaissance faire or picking blackberries, apples or pumpkins at a local farm market.
