Meyer Appointed Associate Editor to the Journal of Singing

On Feb. 26, the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) Board of Directors voted to appoint Director of the Janette Ogg Voice Research Center and Associate Professor of Voice (Baritone) and Vocal Pedagogy David Meyer, D.M., as an associate editor for the Journal of Singing. In this position, he will co-author a regular column on translational voice science with professor John Nix of the University of Texas San Antonio.

The Journal of Singing is a peer-reviewed journal published five times a year by NATS. It provides current information regarding the teaching of singing as well as results of recent research in the field. The new column that Dr. Meyer and Nix will co-author is dedicated to helping teachers understand and incorporate the latest developments in voice science into their pedagogical practice.

Meyer is an active performer, pedagogue and voice scientist. During the 2022/23 academic year, he co-authored seven peer-reviewed publications in three journals. Meyer serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Voice and the Australian Voice Journal. This appointment to the Journal of Singing is his first as an associate editor.
