100% of Shenandoah Conservatory’s BFA in Musical Theatre Class Signs with Talent Agents and Managers

This is an extraordinary milestone for the program and the 24 members of its class of 2023

Every member of Shenandoah Conservatory’s BFA in musical theatre class of 2023 is starting their career with  representation.

“They did something that is almost unheard of in musical theatre BFA programs,” said Charles B. Levitin Chair in Musical Theatre; Director of Musical Theatre and Associate Professor of Theatre Kevin Covert, BFA. “I am so incredibly proud of them all.”

Covert said that the students connected with representatives in part through several opportunities provided by the BFA in musical theatre program: a virtual showcase, a live New York City showcase, and a spring semester initiative that brought more than 15 agents, managers, casting directors and assorted Broadway artists to Shenandoah’s main campus in Winchester.

Representation is quite necessary, said Covert, a Broadway veteran himself. “Agents facilitate auditions and can get you seen by casting directors. To start your career with representation is a huge stepping stone!”
