Meyer Co-authors Paper in the Journal of Singing on Practical Voice Science in the Singing Studio

In their first article together as associate editors for the Journal of Singing, Director of the Janette Ogg Voice Research Center and Associate Professor of Voice (Baritone) and Voice Pedagogy David Meyer, D.M., and professor John Nix of the University of Texas at San Antonio published a peer-reviewed paper discussing what voice science is and what it is not. Importantly, they discuss why singing teachers should care about this distinction. They argue that advances in voice science can help all students – elite vocal athletes and beginning amateurs alike – more efficiently reach increased levels of performance.

What Science Is and What it Is Not” is targeted to an audience of students, emerging (singing) voice scientists and voice pedagogues.
