ShenCoLAB
Twenty-four hours of maximum creativity and fun!

ShenCoLAB: A Night at the Conservatory
Friday, January 16 & Saturday, January 17, 2026
ShenCoLAB: A Night at the Conservatory is 24 hours of creativity and fun! Projects will be composed of 8–10 individuals, varying in disciplines, combined from small group submissions. Prompts submitted by our conservatory students will be randomly assigned to each group at the start of the festival to curate a creative ten minute performance at the end of the event. Limited resources will be provided as another aspect of the creative process!
This year’s festival is built for maximum energy and maximum creativity — a chance to go all-in, take risks and see what’s possible when the whole conservatory comes together to charge into a new semester and year.
Participant Sign-up
ShenCoLAB is back, and we’re looking for this year’s ShenCoLAB-orators to bring the creativity, collaboration and chaos (the good kind)! You can sign up to participate individually or as part of a small group (2–4 participants). The ShenCoLAB Taskforce will bring together individuals and groups to form up to eight dynamic teams for this year’s event.
So what are you waiting for? Grab your friends (or fly solo), and sign up now to be part of the wildest night of collaboration at Shenandoah!
The deadline to sign up is 11:59 p.m. on Friday, December 5. Selected participants will be announced via email on Monday, December 15.

Prompt Suggestions
Submit a one- to three-word thematic prompt for this year’s ShenCoLAB projects! Prompts will be drawn at random and assigned to teams during the Event Kick-Off in January. Teams will then use their prompt as inspiration for their project to be performed at the culminating showcase on Saturday, January 17. Whether it’s silly, serious or somewhere in between, your prompt could spark something amazing on stage!
These prompts are not intended to be fully fleshed-out project designs. Instead, think of them thematic suggestions to stir creativity and collaboration!
The deadline to submit prompt suggestions has passed.
Festival Showcase
ShenCoLAB will culminate in a festive performance on Saturday, January 17, at 7:30PM in Armstrong Concert Hall. Come celebrate with the conservatory community as we kick off the spring semester with a night of laughter, fun and good vibes.
This event is free and open to the public; no tickets are required!
