162nd Anniversary Commemoration of the Battle of Cool Spring

Shenandoah University’s McCormick Civil War Institute invites the community to the 162nd Anniversary Commemoration of the Battle of Cool Spring on Saturday, July 18, from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at Shenandoah University’s River Campus at Cool Spring Battlefield, 1400 Parker Lane, Bluemont, Virginia. The event will begin at the Lodge. This year’s special program, “Coming Like a Meteor”: Artillery at Cool Spring, is free and open to the public. Jonathan Noyalas will lead a walking tour focused on the role of artillery during the battle. The event will also feature an immersive, hands-on artillery experience with historian Alan Robertson.
