Out of the Darkness Campus Walk will begin with registration at 9 a.m. at the entrance gate to the Intramural Field located behind Brandt Student Center. This is to benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and the walk begins promptly at 10 a.m. This event is open to anyone interested in participating. There are no registration fees but walkers are encouraged to set a minimum fundraising goal of $100. Suicide is estimated to be the second leading cause of death among college-age Americans, according to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. An estimated 15 percent of young adults suffer from depression and other mental disorders that put them at risk for suicide. That is why Shenandoah University and Winchester’s Concern Hotline are hosting this Out of the Darkness Campus Walk. Contact Rodney Bragdon at (540) 409-1975 or email@example.com.
