English Honor Society Interest Meeting

March 20 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Are you an undergraduate student who enjoys literature and writing? Have you completed at least 3 English or writing courses with a B or better? Do you have an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher?

If so, you can join English faculty and other interested students in the creation of an SU chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, the International English Honor Society on Wednesday, March 20 in Henkel 109. The group will discuss the benefits of the society and the process for establishing a chapter here at Shenandoah University.

Sigma Tau Delta was founded in 1924 at Dakota Wesleyan University. The Society strives to:

-Confer distinction for high achievement in English language and literature in undergraduate, graduate, and professional studies;

-Provide, through its local chapters, cultural stimulation on college campuses and promote interest in literature and the English language in surrounding communities;

-Foster all aspects of the discipline of English, including literature, language, and writing;

-Promote exemplary character and good fellowship among its members;

-Exhibit high standards of academic excellence; and

-Serve society by fostering literacy.
