Founders’ Day Celebration

February 12 @ 3:00 pm - 3:30 pm

A Founders’ Day Celebration For All!

On Feb. 12, 1875, what would one day become Shenandoah University began when a teacher and several students started meeting in Dayton, Virginia. This moment is central to all Shenandoah is today, including the intrepid, forward-thinking spirit that animates the university community. Shenandoah will celebrate its beginnings at 3 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 12, in front of the Smith Library on main campus with a marching band performance; remarks by university leaders; comments from Jonathan Noyalas ’01, M.A., about Shenandoah’s history; and plenty of swag and sweet treats for a sweet Shenandoah day! Wear your Shenandoah red and blue on what promises to be – as it always is – a great day to be a Hornet! Inclement weather location will be inside the library.

Also, be sure to check Shenandoah’s social media channels leading up to, and on Founders’ Day to learn more. If you can’t make the event, you can watch it live on the university’s YouTube channel. And, keep an eye out for Founders’ Day mini-celebrations at Shenandoah locations, including those in Loudoun; at ICPH, Fairfax; downtown Winchester, and the Health Professions Building.
