Holy Week Tenebrae Service
March 27 @ 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Observe a special Holy Week worship service on March 27 at 8 p.m. The practice of holding Tenebrae services—Latin for darkness—goes back to medieval Christianity. During the service, the room is illuminated only by candlelight. As the story of Jesus’ final hours before his crucifixion is read, the candles are slowly extinguished, one by one, until the room is left in darkness. All are welcome to come participate in this service, and if you would be interested in helping lead through reading a portion of the story, email chaplain Ian Urriola at iurriola@su.edu.
