Spiritual Life Monthly Movie Night Presents: Newsies (1992) On November 20, the United Nations adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child, and the Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1959 and 1989, respectively. November 20 is therefore celebrated as Universal Children’s Day, as a day to promote action in support of child welfare. To celebrate, the Office of Spiritual Life will be hosting a screening of Newsies (1992), a movie-musical that tells the story of a landmark child labor strike at the turn of the 20th century led by the newsboys of New York City. The screening will take place on Wednesday, November 15, at 9 p.m. in the Goodson Chapel Recital Hall. Free Pizza will be provided to all attendees, and an optional discussion will follow the movie.
