My favorite spots around SU: Many places in Winchester are easily walkable – Old Town is always a nice place if you’re looking to meander. If I had to pick a favorite spot, it’d be Oak Stone Craft Pizza!
What makes SU special to me: We are incredible at giving our students opportunities. Our smaller size and student-first focus really shine through in how easily students can access things like our bookable recording studio, the SPARC center for taking care of our performers and athletes, and the VR/AR systems at the HIVE—resources that are hard to find anywhere else!
My advice: Go with your heart! If a campus visit leaves you with a good gut feeling, odds are it’s a good match for you. The culture of a university has such a big impact on your time there, and it’s important to find an atmosphere you gel with so that you know you’ll enjoy your time there. It’s absolutely worth it to visit in-person!
My hobbies: I love to play board/video games with friends, and also really enjoy hiking and rock scrambling when the weather permits. Virginia has an incredible variety of spots to get outside and explore nature!
