Hometown: I was born and raised in a small town called Cumberland, Maine, and for the past eight years I’ve lived between Vermont and Massachusetts.
My favorite spots around SU: Moving from Maine, I wanted to find a place that still felt like home. I love going into Old Town Winchester (the historic district) and walking around. There are so many specialty restaurants, cafes, and small businesses to explore. The creek and red bridges are beautiful as well.
What makes SU special to me: SU has been such a welcoming and accepting community since the moment I first stepped on campus. People smile as you pass by, hold the door for you, and truly have your best interests in mind.
My advice: When visiting colleges, take in everything around you. Listen to the tour guide, pay attention to what students are doing on campus, and ask questions. After the tour, write down the pros and cons so you can reflect on them when you’re applying to schools.
