Dance Students and Faculty Get Behind-the-Scenes Look at Cirque du Soleil

On Friday, Sept. 27, Auxiliary Adjunct Assistant Professor of Dance Production Jocelyn Levadoux, M.F.A.; Auxiliary Adjunct Assistant Professor of Dance Michael Lomeka, M.F.A.; Sammy Fossum ’24 (Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance); and Donovan Mellon ’21 (Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance) attended Cirque du Soleil’s performance of “Volta” in Tysons, Virginia. Lomeka previously danced for Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas for “Viva Elvis” and knew a few of the athletes in the performance of “Volta.” The group went on a backstage tour of the tent after the show. The students learned about aspects of life on tour and spoke to a few athletes backstage about what it was like to work for Cirque.
