A dramatic new feature now graces the lobby of Halpin-Harrison Hall — a U-shaped Indoor LED Stock Ticker Display System. Installed during spring break, the software system provides a continuous stream of dynamic content to the LED ticker display and offers Dow Jones Industrial Average and NASDAQ indexes, news headlines, financial information, current weather, and custom messaging.

Located on three walls, content travels from the far-right end across each wall, seamlessly transitioning from one wall to the next, and continuing to the far-left end. The visually exciting, full-color LED display uses cutting-edge technology engineered to be extremely reliable.

According to Dean Astrid Sheil, Ph.D., generous donors made this project a reality for the School of Business.

In addition to an anonymous gift, First Bank CEO Scott Harvard really stepped up to make this project happen. A member of our Advisory Board, he sees the value in students seeing one of the biggest drivers of the economy — the stock market — in real-time, every day when they enter the building. It also symbolizes that this is a business school. We don’t just talk about business. We do business.”
