Diaz ’24 Joins Original Company of New Musical ‘Basura’

Nathan Diaz ’24 (Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre) has joined the original company of the new musical “Basura,” which will premiere at Alliance Theatre in Atlanta as it begins its development journey toward Broadway.

Featuring music by Gloria Estefan and Emily Estefan, “Basura” tells a vibrant, music-driven story inspired by Latin rhythms and contemporary themes. Diaz’s casting in the original company marks an exciting professional milestone and places him among the first artists to help shape the musical’s debut production.

His involvement reflects the continued success of Shenandoah Conservatory alumni working at the forefront of new musical development and the evolving landscape of the American theatre industry.
