Shenandoah to Standardize Processes with Managed Cloud

Move will make university’s business operations more agile, nimble and secure

Shenandoah University is upgrading its technology operations to the cloud, according to a recent announcement from Ellucian, the leading higher education technology solutions provider.

As a longtime Ellucian customer and a member of the Higher Education Systems and Services (HESS) Consortium, Shenandoah joins more than 1,100 institutions worldwide that have chosen Ellucian as their cloud partner.

Given its strong focus on the student experience, Shenandoah University’s leaders recognized the importance of upgrading their technology as they scale for the future. As the university moves its operations to cloud as the next step of their digital transformation, we look forward to continued partnership in positioning them for success.”

Laura Ipsen | President and CEO of Ellucian

Shenandoah University currently uses Ellucian’s Colleague ERP platform. With the move to cloud, the institution’s business operations will become more agile, nimble and secure while removing long-standing technology customizations. Moving from an on-premise hardware and server maintenance model to Ellucian’s managed cloud environment will support the university’s long-term sustainability and business continuity goals while freeing up IT resources to focus on
other institutional priorities.

At Shenandoah, we are setting the stage to move forward with a new model of shared services. The financial model of education is changing and we are open for others to join us in this new world as a comprehensive private college system. Everything we do, we look to put students first. Now more than ever, the personalized private education experience is what students need.”

Bob Keasler | Vice President for Administration and Finance

The HESS consortium of private colleges and universities is focused on collectively lowering costs and increasing collaboration among members in the areas of administrative systems and services. Ellucian serves more than 130 HESS institutions.
