Nursing School Hosts Research and Scholarship Day

22nd Annual Event Sponsored by the University's Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau

Over 100 people attended the 22nd Annual Research and Scholarship Day sponsored by the Rho Pi chapter of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society for Nursing in collaboration with the Eleanor Wade Custer School of Nursing on Friday, April 8.

This year’s theme was “Translating Nursing Research into Evidence-Based Practice.” The welcome and opening remarks were given by Lisa Levinson, MSN, RN, Ph.D.-c, interim dean of the Eleanor Wade Custer School of Nursing and Rho Pi chapter President.  The keynote presentation was given by Bernice Mowery, Ph.D., RN, Nurse Research Scientist, presenting on the Inova Caritas Study.

During the three breakout sessions, the participants attended various research presentations which were given by eight of our nursing faculty and one Doctor of Nursing Practice student.

Special thanks goes out to the Rho Pi Chapter for raising the level of nursing scholarship in the Shenandoah Valley.
