Oltman Adjudicates, Teaches and Conducts at Regional High Schools

Associate Professor of Voice and Director of Choral Activities Matt Oltman, D.M.A., was invited to judge a pre-assessment choral festival at Independence High School in Ashburn, Virginia, on Thursday, March 3. He was also invited to Woodgrove High School in Purcellville, Virginia, for a series of workshops with three of its top choirs under the direction of Jessica Morgan ’14 (Master of Music in Conducting) on Friday, March 4.

He was also invited to conduct the Alabama All-State Senior Men’s Chorus from Thursday, March 10, through Saturday, March 12. The festival took place in Birmingham, with a gala performance at the Birmingham Jefferson Convention Complex. Nearly 100 tenors and basses from across the state auditioned and were accepted into the choir which, along with an SATB and an SSAA ensemble, represent some of the most talented young singers in the state.

Additionally, Oltman was invited to be a featured judge at the American Classic Choral Festival in Martinsburg, West Virginia, on April 1.
