Edwards ’15 Co-authors Article, Presents Workshops, Appears on Podcasts

This spring, Associate Professor of Voice and Musical Theatre, Coordinator of Musical Theatre Voice and Artistic Director of the CCM Vocal Pedagogy Institute Matt Edwards ’15, D.M.A., co-authored the article, “The Emerging Future of Collegiate Voice Instruction: Updated SWOT Analysis of Current Practice and Implications for the Next Generation,” in the Journal of Singing with Auxiliary Adjunct Assistant Professor of Voice (CCM) Jacqlyn Zito-Edwards, M.M., and Director of the Janette Ogg Voice Research Center and Associate Professor of Voice (Baritone) and Voice Pedagogy David Meyer, D.M. Edwards also presented workshops for the Israeli Voice Association, Kansas State University, Louisiana State University and the Kansas Chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing. He also appeared on the Australian-based Dr. Dan’s Voice Essentials livestream, was a guest on the U.K.-based “Be a Singing Teacher” podcast, and was joined by Zito-Edwards for a two-part series on the Australia-based podcast “A Voice Beyond” where they talked about how racism and classism played a role in the development of academia’s Euro-centric structure of music education.
