Lehfeldt ’25 Travels to Canada to Be Part of Song Recording

Singer-songwriter Bailey Lehfeldt ’25 (Bachelor of Arts in Contemporary Musicianship & Entrepreneur Development), recently traveled to Toronto, Canada, to witness a song that she wrote, “Queen of Moving On,” being recorded by Barbara Efremius, a singer from Stockholm, Sweden, and produced by Grammy-nominated producer, Roy Hamilton III. Before Hamilton’s work as director of A&R for The Singers Company in Toronto, Canada, (the label with which Lehfeldt is affiliated), he was the director of A&R for Capitol Records in Los Angeles, California.

“To have an opportunity to collaborate with someone who has so much vast knowledge of the music industry was truly inspiring,” said Lehfeldt. “It was my first big opportunity as a songwriter, and my first time leaving the country.”

They recorded the song at Lynx Music in Toronto, Canada.

“It was amazing and mind blowing to me that a song I wrote four years ago could lead me to a professional studio in Canada, with people from three different countries,” continued Lehfeldt. “I witnessed the production process and learned so much about myself as a songwriter. I am so excited to bring this knowledge and experience back with me to Shenandoah, and hope that I encounter more opportunities like this one in the future — fingers crossed!”
