Truitt ’23 Apprentices at Sound Emporium Studios in Nashville

Upon graduating Shenandoah Conservatory, Amry Truitt ’23 (Bachelor of Music in Music Production & Recording Technology) had the opportunity to intern at Blackbird Studios in Nashville, where she acquired extensive knowledge of various audio setups and the essential skills required to excel as an audio engineer. During this internship, Truitt was privileged to serve as an assistant engineer on a project for Tokyo Disney’s new venture, Tokyo DisneySea.

“Witnessing the music for their park come to life through the performances of studio musicians was an exhilarating experience,” said Truitt.

Truitt is currently undertaking an apprenticeship at Sound Emporium Studios in Nashville. This position allows her to learn from distinguished professionals, enhancing her expertise as an audio engineer.

Truitt’s dedication to this field led to the establishment of Amry Muse Audio during her senior year at Shenandoah University. She initially focused on recording recitals for clients, and the business quickly evolved into a reputable and sought-after service. Presently, she is in the process of constructing her home studio, Muse Studio. “This initiative enables me to integrate the knowledge and skills acquired from my academic education, internship, and apprenticeship to create a studio that allows my vision as an engineer to come to life,” she said. Muse Studio is designed to cater to clients both locally and nationally, regardless of their budget constraints.

In addition to her engineering endeavors, she continues to play the saxophone and has recently found a deep appreciation for jazz and incorporated it within her work. Visit amrymuseaudio.com to learn more.

Why Shenandoah?

“Shenandoah University is not only a beautiful campus to be at but I believe that the faculty in the MPRT program prepared me to excel in my career. I am very appreciative of this program as I have seen and learned that it surpasses a lot of instructions that are provided by many other institutions.”
