Student-Run Initiative Supports The Cofan Women’s Association Etsy Store

Cofan Rainforest Etsy Store-Dec 2023The Cofan Rainforest Products Etsy Store is officially live, and student-managers Elise Velasquez (MBA), and Denisse Suasnavas ’25, (Environmental Studies and Spanish), can’t wait to share sustainably-made Christmas gifts crafted by the talented women artisans of the Ecuadorian Amazon. From intricate, handmade crafts to eco-friendly accessories, there’s something for everyone, and you’ll be giving back while delighting friends and family.

Every purchase:

  • Empowers Cofan women to break away from unsustainable coffee farming and achieve financial independence on their terms.
  • Plants a hardwood tree in areas deforested by coffee plantations, helping to restore vital ecosystems.
  • Supports Selva Vida Sin Fronteras, a registered charity providing food aid and medical care to the Cofan community for 25 years.

You can use the code AMAZON20 at checkout to take 20% off your order through December 12.

Browse the Cofan Women’s Association Etsy store or check out the Christmas brochure to learn more.

For questions, contact Elise Velasquez at evelasqu19@su.edu.
