Theatre Design and Production Students and Faculty Visit Italy

Seventeen students, including those enrolled in the theatre design and production and acting majors along with one theatre minor, traveled to Italy during the 2026 J Term for a Global Experiential Learning (GEL) trip with Costume Designer and Associate Professor of Costume Design Jennifer Flitton Adams, M.F.A., and Associate Professor of Theatre Design & Production and Stage Management John Bonanni, M.F.A. The group visited museums and theatres in Florence, Vicenza and Venice over nine days. Highlights of the trip included a mask decorating workshop in Venice, the Franco Zeffirelli Museum and Uffizi Museum in Florence, and the opera house La Fenice in Venice.

“We had a wonderful time, with some fantastic guided tours, excellent meals and lots of gelato (Italian ice cream),” said Adams. “Che bella Italia – we all want to go back!”
