Study Voice at Shenandoah Conservatory
No matter what your major is, you can be a part of one of the choirs, audition for the opera or take part in any one of the opportunities to sing a recital, collaborate on a showcase, create a ShenCoLAB project and more!
Sing with us! Students of any major can join a choir at Shenandoah University. Whether you are a veteran singer or new to singing – there is a choir at SU for you. Students enrolled in MUEN 312/313 receive credit towards fulfillment of the ShenEd Creative Expression requirement. We have a great singing community and want you to be a part of it! If you are interested in any choir, go ahead and register for your preferred ensemble!
Opera at Shenandoah Conservatory is open to all majors across campus to audition. The program aims to prepare students to enter an ever-changing industry by offering several different performance experiences.
Music therapy and music education students with great interest in performance are encouraged to audition for the Shenandoah Conservatory Performance Certificate program. The program allows students to study additional repertoire in the applied lessons, perform recitals and receive documentation of advanced performance abilities (without pursuing dual degrees). Moreover, the completion of a performance certificate informs graduate schools and future employers of the student’s advanced performance education and experience.

B.M. in Music Education (Voice)

The best part of choral music education at SU is the amount of teaching experience you get prior to student teaching. We have three additional semesters of field experience. In these placements, we teach micro-lessons and receive feedback from our professors and host teacher. As a senior, I feel prepared to go out into the workforce. The faculty at SU have done an exceptional job of preparing us for the next step.”
