Let’s Talk About Religion: A Shenandoah Conversation

September 12, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Since the fallout from the events of September 11, 2001, which led to waves of Islamophobia and religious violence, the study of religion has focused on training people in how to engage across religious differences. 22 years after 9/11, we still have a long way to go. This event being held in the Ferrari Room of the Brandt Student Center on Sept. 12 at 7 p.m., will feature panelists from the Shenandoah University community modeling how to have a conversation about religion and its impact on our lives.

Following the panelist’s lead, everyone will participate in facilitated conversations with those at their table about their experiences with religion and how to have meaningful conversations in which we can better understand other people’s perspectives on religion. Together, we will articulate why we need to continue learning to talk about religion and practice how we can do that at Shenandoah. Please RSVP for this event.
