My favorite spots around SU: My favorite spot on campus is Sarah’s Glen, especially in the spring when the flowers are blooming (though every season is beautiful here!). My favorite spot in Winchester is Blue Plate Books, which is owned by my high school English teacher. It’s become a very special place for me to browse for new books and reconnect with old friends.

What makes SU special to me: SU is special to me because I’ve been able to grow up while Shenandoah has grown and become the University it is today. I feel very connected to SU, and the community will always hold a special place in my heart.

My advice: The best advice I received while touring college campuses was to find things you already love and that you can grow to love in a college. Find what you know will make you feel at home—activities or places where you can connect with potential friends who like similar things. At the same time, look for things that interest you so you can build new connections or perhaps discover a new hobby. I believe college should be a place where you can grow, but also one that feels like home when you’re missing it.

My fun fact: I love talking about anything and everything so feel free to bring up anything you like!
