Following a nationwide search, Shenandoah Conservatory has appointed Courtney Reilly as managing director as well as artistic director of the premier Performing Arts Live (PAL) concert series. Reilly follows Sloan MacRae, who left the position in February 2014.
As managing director, Reilly will be responsible for marketing and promoting all ticketed events during the academic year within the conservatory’s performing arts venues, cultivating the audience base for the performance seasons, and overseeing box office and front-of-house operations for ticketed performing arts events. Reilly will also continue to develop and expand the Performing Arts Live concert series, which celebrates its seventh season this year.

“Her experience, leadership and passion will further establish Shenandoah Conservatory as a preeminent arts hub in the region and provide our students access to some of the world’s top professional and emerging artists She will also bring an exceptional track record of cross-disciplinary initiatives that can further connect us to the broader university and local school communities,” said Stepniak.
Reilly brings more than 20 years of experience in artistic programming, production management, marketing and educational outreach experience. Most recently and since 2005, she served as the assistant director of cultural arts at the University of North Carolina Wilmington in Wilmington, North Carolina.
Before moving to North Carolina, Reilly served as associate/coordinating producer at Hybrid Films and special events coordinator/patron services at Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York. Reilly has also served as the CONTRA-TIEMP tour director for DanceMotion USASM and executive director for Chamber Music Wilmington.
Her ability to develop strategic and innovative partnerships as well as cross-disciplinary initiatives earned Reilly the opportunity to exercise leadership in multiple committees, task forces and special events.
Reilly holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in drama with a minor in communications from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.
