Join Shenandoah For A Variety Of Women’s History Month Film Screenings

In honor of Women’s History Month, Shenandoah University is hosting a variety of free film screenings regarding gender-related issues.

All screenings will be hosted from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Halpin-Harrison Hall, Stimpson Auditorium, and are free and open to the public.

Kick off the film series on Tuesday, March 13, with “STEP” (2017) and see how a girls’ high school step team overcomes diversity.

On Tuesday, March 20, find out what was going on behind the scenes during the tennis match between Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs in 1973 in the film “Battle of the Sexes” (2017).

“A Quiet Passion”

On Tuesday, March 27, watch the film “A Quiet Passion” (2016) and learn about life of the U.S. poet Emily Dickinson.

All Women’s History Month events have been sponsored by Shenandoah’s Gender & Women’s Studies, Public Health, English, Languages & Cultural Studies, Film Studies, and Mass Communication programs, as well as by the Mosaic Center for Diversity, McCormick Civil War Institute and the Willa Cather Endowment.
