Nick Lenz ’17 Selected for Inaugural Creative Direction Credential Program

Nick Lenz ’17 has been selected as one of only 10 educators to participate in the inaugural cohort of the Creative Direction Credential Program, a pilot collaboration between Point Park University and HXOUSE. This groundbreaking initiative brings together artists, industry professionals, and educators to examine the expanding role of creative direction across live entertainment, music, fashion, and media.

Throughout the program, participants will learn directly from the creative teams behind globally recognized artists such as The Weeknd, Kendrick Lamar, Dua Lipa, and Rosalía. The curriculum offers rare insight into how large‑scale artistic visions are conceptualized, developed, and executed at the highest levels of the industry.

For Lenz, a 2017 graduate of Shenandoah Conservatory’s musical theatre program, this opportunity carries particular significance.

“My time at Shenandoah instilled in me a deep commitment to both artistry and innovation, and I continue to be inspired by how Shenandoah alumni are shaping the future of the performing arts in ways that extend far beyond the Broadway stage. Across industries, Shenandoah artists are leading, creating, and redefining what the next generation of our field can look like, and I am proud to be part of that ongoing legacy,” Lenz said.

Lenz will attend the program on a full scholarship made possible through the generous support of Clair Global, The Heinz Endowments, Partner4Work Pittsburgh, and the Pennsylvania Department of Community & Economic Development. Their investment in artists and educators is helping to expand access to professional development and open new pathways for creative impact.

Lenz said he looks forward to bringing the knowledge and experience gained through this program back to the communities and artists he serves as the education and engagement manager at Westmoreland Cultural Trust in Greensburg, Pennsylvania.
