Zoeter Performs with Post Classical Ensemble and Records for Upcoming CD

Conservatory Faculty News

Anna Lee Van Buren Chair in Clarinet, Coordinator of Winds and Percussion and Professor of Clarinet Garrick Zoeter, M.M., performed with the Post Classical Ensemble, of which he is the principal clarinetist, in two concerts at the AFI theater in Silver Spring, Maryland in March. The event featured live performances of Dmitri Shostakovitch’s score to the screening of the 1929 Soviet silent film “New Babylon.” This was the Washington, D.C., premiere of the score, which was once thought to be lost but was discovered in 1975. In April, Zoeter performed and recorded for an upcoming CD of Andrew Rindfleisch’s Three Lyric Songs for Clarinet and Wind Ensemble with the Cleveland Winds at Cleveland State University. The piece was written specifically for Zoeter and was premiered at Shenandoah Conservatory with the Wind Ensemble back in 2016.
