Salley Participates in Music Theory Residency at the University of Colorado, Boulder

Coordinator of Music Theory and Associate Professor of Music Keith Salley, Ph.D., participated in a residency at the University of Colorado, Boulder on Oct. 22, and Oct. 23, where he was invited to share thoughts in his two main research areas. For two days, he interacted with faculty and students at the College of Music, presenting “The Schematization of Standard Jazz Repertoire” for their colloquium series, and leading a class of undergraduates through a guided analysis of Austrian Expressionist miniatures, informed by the compositional principle of Developing Variation.
