Matt Edwards – October and November 2018 News

In October, Director of Musical Theatre, Associate Professor of Voice, Coordinator of Musical Theatre Voice and Artistic Director of the CCM Vocal Pedagogy Institute Matt Edwards ’15, D.M.A., served as a guest vocal coach at Lawrence Conservatory, where he coached vocal performance and music education majors in scenes from “Spring Awakening” and Bernstein’s “Mass.” He also presented a masterclass for the South Texas National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) at the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas, and at the Sunderman Conservatory of Music at Gettysburg College, and a pop/rock workshop at Illinois Wesleyan University. Edwards also wrote four articles and presented a webinar for Vocology in Practice.

In November, an article co-authored by Edwards, “CCM Versus Music Theatre: A Comparison,” was published in the Journal of Singing. He also presented a pop/rock workshop at at Missouri State University and served again as a guest vocal coach at Lawrence Conservatory for Bernstein’s “Mass.”
